  Whoever wrote that is a little crazy.

  "This scenario could also work to protect them from law enforcement detection; they could tell the elders and others that the police are coming to detain them because it’s Armageddon, not because they need to answer legitimate charges of endangering children. An elder could then sit in jail indefinitely, thinking that Jehovah is going to step in any second now and bring that new system, while not saying a word to police. For those that do wise up and realize they’ve been duped, once they emerge from the bunkers or cooperate with the police or whatever else, they see that the world is still continuing to turn while their old Kingdom Hall is now a credit union and their leaders are gone."

  
  

  That makes no sense whatsoever. If the police arrested an elder for endangering a child, the police would have to tell him what he's being arrested for and he would be given an attorney. He's not gonna sit in jail thinking armageddon is coming.

  On its face, the clothing is fine. It's basically representing primitive clothing since people will just have crude methods of making clothes. Like someone said it's super common in stuff like Star Trek.

  However, JWs are taught to analyze EVERYTHING in the WT stuff. Clothing is always a big one. So of course JWs are supposed to take that as doctrine and that's what they'll wear in the paradise.

  It's now okay to applaud when someone is reinstated?

  anyone else notice that in the video where the sister was reinstated after many years of freedom, that the congregation applauded at the announcement of her reinstatement?

  it been a few years since i was an elder, but when i was, we were instructed by the co that it was "not appropriate" to applaud when the announcement of a reinstatement is made from the platform.

  his words, "because the one being reinstated is only doing what they should be doing!".

  rogers death is because of an addiction, fentanyl is what they are saying is the drug that did him in which was reported on the news as being more potent than heroine.

  why is it that some nosy sister can report you because someone who looked like you was in the parking lot the same time as she was, yet bro.

  Baptized niece crowned prom queen. Could her dad loose his MS appt?

  so my niece (not thru my brother but rather my wife) had been talking about going to her prom.

  the family had privately been somewhat doubtful that she would be allowed to go.

  the problem was that they kept promising she would be allowed but history has shown us that her parents tend to get her excited about things and then drop the denial on her at the last minute.

  "individuals could be vulnerable to criminal charges for expressing their beliefs."

  After reading that, how the hell can anyone support this? How do you all feel about what Russia is doing to gay people? They're basically doing the same thing, making it criminal to be gay.

  I'm not a huge fan of the WTS, but rank and file publishers shouldn't be treated as criminals for what they believe or expressing them.

  Russia's human rights record is abysmal.

  "The Bunker" WT Conventions 2016 (Gag Me)

  in the very near future the gang will be down in a bunker,cellar awaiting the police,military to break in and take them away to camps or executions .

  (paranoid much) this is the foretold "prophecy" of the governments turning on religion and saving them for last.since the couple portrayed as simplifying their life by getting rid of a lot of material things is shown to be (about) the same age in the bunker we know it must be any minute now that it will happen.

  i have been out for over 35 years and things seem to be getting more bizarre each year.. when did this doctrine really become main stream?

  exjwlemming: Go bags really aren't a JW thing. The federal government and FEMA strongly recommend people keep them, especially those that live in disaster prone areas.  I recall announcements about them were made shortly after Hurricane Katrina, which sorta woke people up in regards to natural disasters in the US.

  I haven't used a paper calendar in 15 years. I imagine the majority of people don't anymore because of the ubiquity of smartphones.

  It is funny though to think about the talks given once in a while about the importance of the JW calendar. Not that important anymore, though, eh?
